Happy Thanksgiving🥰

It's turkey day and I am making the family favourite from the 5 Roses cookbook, the Savoury Stuffing recipe, listening to Nana Mouskouri, her hits. I am thinking about the many years where my mom and I would get together, get our aprons on and start the day with getting this stuffing going and getting the bird ready. There was always a bit of drama..something would go south only to re route itself and turn out beautifully! Always soo much food, so much work and so much fun but now making this stuffing is always the thing that gives me that little lump in my throat. So special those times. This is what I am grateful for today, those memories. The nice thing about listening to Nana Mouskouri is that she does sing a few ABBA songs too so it's like a win-win being that those are also true hits in this household! (and we can't forget Boney M, that tends to be more of a Xmas thing)

Nana Mouskouri is a staple, just like the savoury stuffing recipe. Listening to this music can evoke so many pictures in my head of my grandparents, their little house, the farm, my aunts and uncles, my cousins, my parents,

dancing at Bowser Legion, turkey dinners, family get togethers, my childhood, growing up. Snapshots of the times when we are all together, I miss those times and will continue to hold them dear to my heart ❤️

This album in particular, Roses & Sunshine. A good one, for me, it still holds up to the test of time. It reminds me of the love my parents had for each other and us and even though these love songs are a bit cheesy, it's a good cheesy, and romantic and beautiful ❤️
